Question: Which regions are going to be added to ECAs in future? What about the Mediterranean?
Answer: We are not aware of any additional new ECA to be included in Marpol soon, aside from the Mediterranean area. A joint proposal for the designation of the ECA in the Med will be presented to the IMO in 2022 and should come into force from 2024.
