MarQuip and its clients and partners can look back on a great year, with many exciting developments. The Tier III regulations regarding marine emissions came into force on 1 January, with major repercussions on new builds, and MarQuip is already deploying tailored certification and design solutions to streamline switching to the new standard.
The company was also commissioned to work on five new superyachts during 2016 ranging from 25 to 77 metres in size. And we have ongoing work on several projects, under various types of partnership and in various states of progress, in places ranging from the Netherlands and Germany to Turkey, Spain and Italy.
Other highlights of 2016 included the iconic Monaco Yacht Show in late September and the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in early November. These were followed by a very productive participation at the METSTRADE Show in mid-November. The successful three-day show in Amsterdam included an order for a fully custom, Tier III-certified exhaust system for a twin set of 1500 kW main engines.
