A case study in system integration

One of our most challenging recent projects involved a yard that had decided to arrange the after-treatment themselves rather than leave this part of the system to us too. During the engineering phase MarQuip discovered that the purchased after-treatment solution was too small to stay within the recommended back pressure values of the engine within a properly designed exhaust system. Budgetary restrictions meant that the yard was not able to invest in buying a bigger after-treatment option so it came down to us to solve the dilemma.

The MarQuip experts managed to reduce the functionality of the exhaust in order to make the whole system work within the given values. They did their best of course but these kinds of concessions tend to leave no-one feeling really satisfied with the outcome. The project is a case study in why it pays dividends for yards to have MarQuip fully in the loop before they order certain components on their own.
