As the largest yacht built to date in China, the recently finished Illusion Plus is a monument to luxury. Designed by Rainsford Saunders with interior design by Sinot and naval architecture by Azure, this 88.5-metre superyacht has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with a gross tonnage of more than 3,600.
MarQuip played a crucial role in the build of this impressive yacht, involved from the earliest stages. Illusion Plus has Rolls-Royce diesel-electric propulsion with two Azipull thruster pods. As Rolls-Royce engines have a low maximum backpressure, we deployed our experience in backpressure calculations for underwater exhaust systems to develop & fit an ingenious solution to the full satisfaction of the yard and the owners. We also produced diesel particle filters for the Rolls-Royce generators and a wet cooled exhaust.
